This website is the home of Jasper Brooke and the Kenyalang Novels. The statement below describes what information is collected when you visit, how it is used, and who else sees it. It is intended to be read plainly rather than as a legal instrument; if your jurisdiction requires more, you should consult the laws that apply to you.  ‍ ‍

Hosting & Site Analytics‍ ‍

This website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace collects information about your browser, network, and device, the pages you view, the page you arrived from, and your IP address. This information is used to serve the site to you, to keep it secure, and to power the analytics that tell me, in aggregate, which writing and which characters people are reading about. Squarespace's own use of this data is described in their Privacy Policy.  ‍ ‍

Cookies‍ ‍

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Small files placed on your device when you visit. Strictly necessary cookies are always used, as they are what allow Squarespace to deliver the site to you securely. Analytics and performance cookies are used only after you acknowledge the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. You can decline these without losing access to any part of the site.  

The Contact Form‍ ‍

If you write to me via the contact form, the information you submit (your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to put in the message itself) is collected so that I can read and reply. This information is held by Squarespace as the site's hosting provider, and stored via email notifications to my own inbox. It is not shared further, and it is not used for marketing unless you have separately subscribed to the newsletter.  

The Newsletter‍ ‍

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is passed to Squarespace Email Campaigns, which sends the newsletter on my behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the foot of any newsletter email, and doing so removes you from the list. I do not sell, rent, or otherwise pass subscriber details to third parties.  ‍ ‍

Fonts‍ ‍

The site renders some text using Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To display these correctly, those services may receive your IP address and basic information about your browser and the page you are viewing.  ‍ ‍Your rights If you would like to know what information the site holds about you, or you would like it corrected or deleted, write directly to Squarespace who will correct or delete it.
